POTD 4/5/2017 Baby Blossom

[Taffeta]

She was actually my very first baby pony, and my second ever pony, after Windy. I got her, probably, for my third birthday in 1985. She was also the pony that kickstarted me as a pony girl, because she came with so many accessories.

I still have my original Baby Blossom, although she is a lot greyer now and I have no idea whether she began life with straight hair or curly (it's straight now).

I have an upgrade, and I think she has curlyish hair. She is also quite lavender. She came from someone here in the UK at a local market. I have no idea why she is not the one pictured on the scrapbook but I guess I got sentimental.

I have the pearly one, I remember vaguely trading for her about 15 or 16 years ago, but I don't know who with.

I have her MIB. But my MIB is the UK box design version, just like I had as a child. She is one of my earliest MIP ponies from the UK release. Unfortunately I can't find a good photo on my pc storage. Her box is blue and white and has baby applejack and baby cotton candy on as well.

I also have Peruvian Baby Blossom, though not her mother. I think that is it though.

The most special of those, though, is the first one of course She's one of the few ponies that appears in early photos of me. I have one of me, mum and my gran and I'm holding Baby Blossom and grinning. I think she'd just been out on an expedition with me.

I dont have any of her yet, I do want a mail order, regular, and some of the nirvana ones are soo cute.

She's an adorable pony! As a kid I was super interested in her freckles, as none of my other ponies had them.

I actually desperately want her. She's the last baby I need from that first set and for some reason I can't find a nice one. I will weep forever longing for this little munchkin

I can't find a nice one, either, and based on the pony lots that come through my hands I'd say she's the hardest to find of the original baby ponies (although not rare by any means). I've had one since childhood who I love, but she was from a thrift store and she's seen better days. I've wanted an upgrade for a while for display purposes but haven't found a good one (though I'll never sell my original).

I'm glad it's not just me. For being a common pony I see one of her for every 6 baby Glory. the ones I find seem a little dingy and grey, and while I'd accept that if I found her second hand, if I'm buying one for the expressed purpose of completing a set, I'd much rather invest in a nice lavender purple one.

Stinks she seems to grey so easily...

Have her She's cute but I guess I don't appreciate her as much as I should. I'm also not a fan of her pose at all.

She is one of my childhood favorites!
I still have her, as well as a few more, and the Play and Care MIB. I'd die to own her MOC on German card.

We have two, both from my girlfriend's childhood herd. They were bought secondhand and are both faded almost white. We were pretty surprised to learn that they would have been purple originally!

I love Blossom. She sits on my desk with my Blossom from childhood. The pearlized version is high on my want list.
