Sunfading Using Paint
« on: December 05, 2016, 12:24:52 PM »
Hi all,

I want to add information about this to my website, but I want to make sure I'm understanding correctly.

- you paint over the eyes, symbols, blush with white acrylic paint
- I've been told that watered down paint is better?
- Once sunfading is done you rub it off with a wet cloth
- Use caution over glitter symbols

Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

personally I prefer to put plastic wrap over the symbols and eyes and paint on that. the sun still fades through the clear wrap but it's so much less mess and less risk of the paint damaging the pony. I use white out from the Doller store for paint.

I didn't dilute my paint but it was a cheap runny paint. Also it should be light in colour I would think, I used an off-white. I used a baby washcloth soaked in warm water and pressed it on the paint to soften it up and gently wiped (watching the symbols of course).

I love your site BTW!!! It's helped me so much!
