I used to have one and I always thought the same until I saw others packaged the same way.  The way she was boxed there would really be no way to tell.  Hope everything goes well for you though!

Does she have a loop around her neck holding her in place in the photo or is that a trick of the light? That would be one good sign.

There's an elastic loop in the pocket that the head fits through, so that's not indicative of it being MIB.
