Daring Doo`s hair

Ordered a Daring do FS on clearance(yay).
When I pulled her out of the box her mane was AMAZING!
Thick and full, so silky and soft right out of the box. I couldn't believe it. It was like a G1 mane.
Normally I shampoo, condition and style them right away because the hair feels gritty and is super tangly. Its like its coated in something nasty. But not this one.

I was disappointed she has a spindly little tail. Has anyone tried to add extra hair to the FS tails without having to give them a completely new tail?

Has anyone else gotten a daring do with a great mane?

The pics don't really show how nice the mane is. And the tail looks thicker than it really is.

In addition to being sparse, is the tail dry/frizzy/otherwise inferior in texture to the mane? I've noticed with a lot of G4s (particularly Crystal Princess Celebration thru Rainbow Power), the mane tends to be much silkier and nicer than the tail.

Actually the tail is soft and silky. Just sparse.

I ordered her through my local TRU.
