My Equestria Girls doll is Discolored?
« on: October 04, 2016, 04:21:10 PM »
A few years ago i bought all of the first wave of G4 Equestria Girls brushables from the first movie, i had them all in a box, and today i got a few of them out to look at them. My pinkie pie's head was a faded pinkish tan, while the rest of her body was still a vivid pink. I had never heard of the equestria girls discoloring, and none of my other dolls looked any different. Not sure if anyone else has had any problems with their EG dolls, but if you have, is their any way to restore them?

I've heard of that problem with pinkie pie. It's pretty common. Also, if they're in storage it's good to take their clothing off as it can stain them as well. They just don't make toys like they used to.

It's just something that can happen when different kinds of plastics are used. In dolls the head needs to be soft vinyl so it can be rooted but if the rest of the doll was made from the same material it would be floppy and noodly (no excuse for ponies to be made that way tho since they used to be made entirely of soft vinyl). Catrine from Monster High often has similar issues.

Its pretty sad that that's how they are making them now, I thought that perhaps the first wave would be of a higher quality then the later ones   plus the only part of clothing you can take off is her skirt  I wish that they would do more then just paint on the shirt.

I have this problem too, my wave 1 pinkie pie now has a salmonish coloured head :( I would've thought the first wave would be better quality too
