Hastings Entertainment to close all stores by October 31st

If you live in  an area with a Hastings store, they are closing all stores October 31st. They had the best selection of Funko Pops in my area.

I just heard and I'm so upset ):

We don't have the money to shop there much but even just walking in is amazing. Its one of like three actually interesting stores in the area, and the only good alternative to Game Stop :/ I was a little worried when they had a wall of DVDs for 50 cents or something each a couple months back but I didn't expect this.

I was worried too when they started selling their Funko Pops for Buy 1 Get 1 50% off but when I asked an employee he said they were only doing that because they got in several boxes a day of them. I was just at a Hastings last weekend looking for a Funko Pop I wanted and overhead an employee saying that he was sure Hastings would find a buyer and not have to close. He even mentioned one that Entertainment Earth was looking at buying Hastings.

I'm pretty upset too. Hastings is the closest geek/book store in the area. It's just a 15min drive away from me and most of the coast. Now our only other bookstores are a 45min drive away. I really hope we get something to replace it.

But liquidation means good deals at least. I'll set aside some money to hunt down a few things.

Yeah, I heard back in May sadly and hoped it wasn't true.

I'm so mad I can hardly contain myself. I pre-ordered The new Harry Potter book months ago. When I heard they might go out of business o called and spoke with a manager asking if I would get my book or if I needed a refund. They assured me it was fine. Now o called today and they told me all the orders were canceled, there was nothing they could do except I would have to file a claim to get my money back. I've been curing up a storm for a while now. This is not right! The claim form I finally found is huge and all this could have been avoided if they didn't lie to me. I'll be going down there next week believe me.

That's terrible, Maddie. They shouldn't treat a customer like that even if they are closing. I knew that they had stopped accepting giftcards and stuff but they should have refunded your money if they weren't going to follow through on ordering the book. I hope you can get your money back somehow.

I'm sad about this because it was the only place I could find any of the pony funkos. now I'm going to have to wait till i'm in colorado or order online for the figures I wanted.

I am really upset About it Cause Our Two Hastings we Have here are our Best Music Store's we have Best Buy But our's get's Rid of their CD's After A Year If They don't Sell I think it is really Dum Doing that We Have A place Here Called Ralph's Record's They Have New CD's But they are way Higher on their New One's Then Hastings, They sale used cd's To but Half The time they do not Work I had to bring several of My Cd's Back there I Got From There cause they Did not Work, I Got used one's at Hastings and never Had to bring Any Back Cause They Worked , I Bought Most all of My Cd'S From Hastings, They have Certain Band's CD's That The Other Store's Do Not Have,I Bought Most all of My DS&DS 3D's Game's From There To,
      And I Just Started Collecting The Funko Pop Figure's and I bought All Mine At Hastings,   When our Hasting's Close down We ar enot gonna have anymore Good Record Store's,
              Here We Lost some great Record Store's we used to Have Camelot Music,Traxx Music&FYE  and Now The Hasting's Lubbock is Starting To suck they Have Closed Lot's of Other Good Store's we used to Have As Well   which sucks as well .

The closest location to me is roughly 40 minutes away, so I've only been there maybe once. Thanks for the heads up on this, though - I'll have to head over there soon and see what I can snag.

went to my local hastings and got a couple books for way cheap, found out they were going to get the mlp GoH figures but due to closing and liquidating all shipments were sent back -.- sigh.

I went to one in San Marcos, TX while on vacation. It was much bigger than the one around here in Lake Jackson. I managed to get a Godzilla figure and the one Godzilla comic I had been looking for but that's about all sadly.
