Nail polish racks, I was wondering what those were from! Genius display, I like how clean and organized it looks. I'll bet those would be great for G2 as well.

The cloth has a sort of cloud like feel which is fitting, I think it will come together well when you start to populate your displays. If you want, the hardware stores have trim that would be easy to cut and nail up to cover edges, some of it is even foam so super easy to work with.

I don't know how G2s compare in size to G4s, I feel like they're taller? Only the standard size G4s fit the inner shelves, all of the princess height ponies can only go on the top shelf. (Which has been a challenge in our collection)
But I love the neatness and uniformity those racks provide, and how they keep everything so flat to the wall!

I love that you reference it being like a cloud, that is really fitting and makes me feel better about it :)
I set up a table under the window for G1 playsets and had a green spare sheet to cover it and it is definitely reminiscent of grass, so that works perfectly!
Back after at least 4 years away!

Great job! Your so lucky to have a little room! Me and my fiancĂ© just got a little condo and it's a little smaller than our old apartment so I have to figure out where my dolls and ponies can go  since they can't go where they were. But that's going to be awhile since we're still unpacking and organizing everthing.
Congrats on your guys house and great job on your pony room :)

It's looking great! I actually quite like the fabric on the walls. You'll want to get some blackout curtains asap though or your playsets are going to discolour

G2s and G4 Princesses are about the same height :)  g2's are a tiny bit shorter than the  g4 Princesses  :)

Awesome project :) loved the look of it :) does it have AC  though ?
that would be a bit of concern ,but not sure if it gets as hot as it does down here in Texas :)

The shelves are about 3.75 inches tall, if G2s are smaller than princesses they may fit!
No AC, but it doesn't get crazy hot. At least not any hotter than the rest of the 2nd floor.

I'm not sure how much to worry about sun-discoloration. Will any amount of light coming through cause that? Right now I have the fabric cut on 3 sides around the window, and I let it hang down like a curtain- but it's white so most of the light still comes in.

Direct sunlight will damage the plastic eventually i would use a double rod to add a total black out  on there and you can always open it when you visit the ponies .

Sun is a major no-no in collection rooms. Sunfading is a thing for a reason! It will discolor your playsets as well as anything else touched (like the ponies on the wall). I don't know how much affect indirect sunlight will have on ponies but I wouldn't be surprised if bright sunlight hurt them over time. Definitely get that window covered up completely with a long curtain (so it doesn't just concentrate the sunlight to a strip on the back of the playsets) asap. You could always put the playsets under the table in the meantime to protect them, assuming nothing else is stored under there, or put a thick blanket over them if it'll take a while to get the curtains.

Even certain types of lights can damage collectibles. Collection rooms should be dark when no one's inside and cooled/heated to a safe temperature to protect the things inside.
