Big brother hats - size ?

Hay ponies!
Got a question for y'all.. Are the big brother hats all the same size to where they fit comfortably over the ears? Or are they supposed to be a little snug? I think the Tex hat I got is on the small side..it hardly fits on my Tex's head and already made an indentation on an ear after pulling the hat off 

I remember my childhood Chief's hat being relatively easy to put on and take off so I'm wondering if they just made hats different sizes, or this just is how the cowboy hat is made or I got a messed up one, or what.. Do I have to get a new hat for my Tex?

I don't have any other Big Brothers or their hats to compare to...

My Tex's hat is also really difficult to take on an off. I wonder if it has to do with the shape of the plastic compared to the others?

Chief's hat slides on super easy and fits loose, it moves around on his head but his ears hold it in on his head. 4-Speed's is tight putting on but then fits pretty nicely nicely, not as loose as Chief's though.

Same problem. Now i never put the hat on my Tex and made a replacement one out of silicone. I can't let him without his hat!

Maybe over the years the plastic has formed differently. I think the hat was originally made to stay on. But when taken off, the plastic had more space to "relax" and expand to a degree.

Hmm.
Yeah, it seems that the cowboy hat was made smaller, or in time the plastic shrunk...It's too bad, because I feel like I'm hurting my poor Tex! Too tight of hat might cause him headaches!
