Hi all - mom of a few kids, one of them being an adorable almost five year old girl who has been in love with MLPs since she could walk! I grew up around G1 ponies, and planned on gifting them to my daughter, but my mother kept them in a bug-ridden attic, and my husband opened the box, and pretty much junked all of them I've been trying to pick up some here and there on etsy and ebay, and so far I have managed to rebuy a bunch of the ones I had as a kid:

Seashell
Glory
Moondancer
Tangles and Jangles
Firefly
Galaxy (perfect eyes!)
Starshine
Cherries Jubilee

And I picked up a Show Stable with all of the parts, non ripped stickers, but two of the little pieces that attach the front doors are broken (one missing), so I'm trying to wrack my brain over how to fix that.

I'm a photographer, and also an engineer, so I'm thinking that trying to restore these ponies (and those stable doors) will be a good mental exercise, haha.

Looking forward to hanging out here. MLPs were pretty much my only played-with toys when I was a kid, and I'm so happy that my daughter loves them just as much (though she's more familiar with the Friendship is Magic crew). You may see me around trying to figure out how to restore them to decent, play-worthy condition. Thanks for having me!

Thanks for the welcome! I was SO sad that my husband just took it upon himself to toss them. Other than, well, bugs *wince* - they all had perfect hair, glitter, no pen marks - I grew up fairly poor, so ponies were pretty much my only toys (other than two MIA Cabbage Patch dolls), and I took exceptional care of them. He is an amazing husband so he is forgiven, but I feel so guilty that dirty yet otherwise perfect ponies were trashed. I had a fair amount of them (all of the G1s that weren't mail order or otherwise limited edition) plus the stable, so I feel like I am on a mission to restore the ones I bought.

I moved from NYC to the South, so I'm hoping sunfading won't take forever down here. I also want to see what I can manage with the stable I picked up, and I'm really worried that I won't be able to restore the doors, since one hinge snapped off (still have it, so maybe gorilla glue?) and one is missing completely. I'll likely be making a post to see if anyone familiar with Apoxie Sculpt knows if it might help with the missing hinge. I'd love to reglitter some of the worse symbols, but, one thing at a time, lol.

I'm very sorry to hear about your collection, but I'm glad you've found some replacements. I hope your able to fix up your show stable (I know how it feels, I have a parlor in need of some TLC). Enjoy the forums!

Sounds like you already have a pretty nice collection there and if anyone can fix a show stable its an engineer
