Painful pony poses!
« on: July 20, 2016, 01:27:39 PM »
I can't even say my thread title out loud, tongue twister!

Anyway, just a wee thread for lols! I have nearly completed my ba y sea ponies so obviously have been working on this set for a while, but I only just noticed how painful the US pose looks (the one looking straight upwards- a là baby dipper)
It literally looks like her neck might break, apologies for gruesome imagery!

Anyway, which pose do you all think is the most painful/awkward? Ponies that may have been damaged over the years and have damaged limbs are welcome too, let's find the most ouch-worthy pose!

Apologies if this has been discussed before, I don't frequent the corral very often!

The G3 Shell-belle pose. DD owns a Tangerine Sunset.

G1 Powder pose. Do ya ever wonder if they get a krick in their necks?

I had to Google the g3 pose but, ouch!

As for powder pose, they are stuck like that now for 30 odd years, the poor things!

I agree with the Mimic pose - I know its probably supposed to look regal and I dont have a problem with it...but wow yeah imagine being frozen in that position for eternity :(

To be honest i think most positions would be painful if you were frozen in it for 30 years

Bubbles pose-her legs and butt have got to be numb by now.

yes actually thats a really fair point! When I went to art classes and we would have a model sit completely still for an hour, that looked painful enough

Mimic does look like shes waiting for her subjects to bow downbut, can a real horse even pull off that pose? :P

I think the G3 Diva Pose looks quite painful.

And I never liked the Powder pose.  Ever.

I would agree with the g3 diva and the g1 Quackers pose.  Both look difficult to maintain.

As for Skyflier's pose, I always thought she was looking at the sky or the stars or something poetic like that.  Of course, that probably would get kind of painful after 30 odd years.  :D

I can totally relate with the issues with the Powder and Mimic poses; on one hand I like that the ponies looks kind of upbeat and confident but at the same time the necks make me thing *ouch!* and it's kind of offputting. :/
G3 Waterfire and Fizzy Pop's poses have always disturbed me a bit as well; I'm not an expert on horse anatomy but those front legs do NOT appear to be in a healthy position!

The Bubblefish pose doesn't look like how any horse could naturally walk.

Baby Tappy pose. No horse can do the playful dog pose. Their anatomy is not built for it.
