Issue Solved (Please Delete)
« on: June 27, 2016, 03:19:49 PM »
I bought this game on amazon and after over a week it arrived today.  I bought it from amazon from a third party seller and I haven't seen this game for PS3 since it's release.  The game is brand new, even had the plastic over it.  I go to put the game in and everything loads and it goes to the part where it says "press start" and I press it and nothing happens.  I know it's not the controller or my system because I also recently bought Lego Batman and the start button works fine and I also got a box set from a tv series and again the start button works fine.

I just tried resetting the controller and it's still not working.  I'm just frustrated because it's a brand new game so it shouldn't do this.

Has this happened to anyone else?  If so how did you fix it.  I'd hate to return it, because that means I'll have to wait even longer to get a replacement. :(

Moving this to Off Topic for your. Snork Maiden, WYP mod

I've been wanting to play that game but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Did you try pressing every other button on the controller, just to see if one of them would work?

Do you think the game is frozen, and that's the reason it won't continue past the start screen? If the game is frozen, that may mean that your PS3 is about to die on you. I hope that's not the problem!

Otherwise, I'm not sure if I can do much more to help without being there in person. Sorry. :(

Yeah I tried other buttons and I'm currently playing Lego Batman with no issues and I'm also watching Season 6 of Xena with no issues.  Thanks for the website link I'll check it out.

OK so for an update I contacted Little Orbit, the company who made the game and they told me that it might not be working because I might need a newer model of the PS3 controller.  The original is sixaxis and they said I might need a DualShock 3.  Other people have had this issue and they said once they got a different controller the game worked.  Easy to fix I guess.

On the brightside the person who sold me the game on amazon got back to me and refunded my amazon gift card order amount and told me I can keep the game so maybe I'll use the money to get a DualShock 3 controller so I can play my game.

Why would you do that?  The game isn't faulty and the fact that you have the wrong controller isn't the seller's problem.  He didn't do anything wrong, why should you get a free game from him?

He's doing it as an additional courtesy, so I don't have to go through the trouble of sending it back.  I didn't find out until later that it might be a new controller I need.

There needs to be a big warning on the cover of the game that says it requires a dual shock controller. I still use my old six-axis controller from time to time, so I could have had the very same problem!

The only controller I've ever used is a sixaxis and I agree about what you said about the warning.  I guess lots of people have gotten new controllers beforehand and that's why few people have had the same issue.  I have seen lots of games say DualShock 3 controller on the back for game requirements along with how much space the game takes up, but the sixaxis works fine.  The seller should have stated at least to note that the game only works with a DualShock 3 controller, but I mean he didn't actually make the game so it can't be 100% his fault I guess.

I had no need for a DualShock controller until now and I'm not sure what the difference is between the Sixaxis and the DualShock 3.  To be honest when I looked at it when I was looking for one on amazon it looks just like my Sixaxis one.
