Do you miss your ponies?
« on: June 11, 2016, 05:36:56 PM »
Do you miss your ponies? I say hi when I get home so maybe on the extremely weird side. Mine got packed up last week to prevent any damage from the work that needed done. My hot water heater pipe burst and caused a lot of damage. Bathroom, dining room, and hallway floors, the cabinet the heater was in, including the wall between it and the dining room. Major insurance claim. Replacing subfloor and wainscotting. Plus sanding and refinishing all the floors in the house because they can't match almost 70 year old hardwoods. We have an addition put on in the 70's with different floor so luckily my stuff doesn't have to leave the house.

Anyway. The point is, I miss them. I have a few out for trade, swap, and because I just got them, but my favorites are all packed up in 50 gallon totes and I miss talking to them, brushing them, seeing them.
Does anyone else miss theirs while on vacation or business trip?

You are not alone to say hi, i say hi to my girls everytime i enter my bedroom.
For the question, i think i'm even worse because i'm able to miss them some days even when not in vacation , just because i'm at school for example. But i must be really bored.

When my family and I moved to our current house I lost track of my ponies for a long time.  A lot of boxes wound up in places they really shouldn't have been, including all of my ponies   They accidentally wound up in storage for a couple of years and I missed them so very much.  I got other ponies while mine were gone, but it wasn't the same because I knew that the rest of my girls were missing (I was worried that they were lost forever).  When we randomly found the box one day, I was ecstatic!  So yes, I totally understand missing your ponies while they are packed away.  I do miss them when I'm away, too, but usually I have a small pony tucked in my bag so that helps since it's like having a little piece of my collection with me.

Hmm, when I couldn't find my childhood ponies for several years I missed them a lot. The ones I do have though that have spent time in tubs I didn't necessarily miss since I knew where they were at. I do have a few like my childhood high flyer and Nightlight ect that stay out all the time. They are in my guest room where I can lock the cats out away from them, so I don't always see them every day. I do get super upset when I'm away from my animals more than one day though.

I have some stored away due to lack of space for them. I do miss having them out on the shelves like I did years ago.

I've had to spend three nights away from my puppy due to his surgeries. I didn't sleep for any of them. Luckily my vet is 24 hour so I called frequently to check on him. They all know me very well there now and my boy will only be a year old next month.

My daughter is generally only away from me for school. I've gotten better at letting her go spend time with my parents when she wants to, but I still worry terribly if she's away longer than expected. She's 7 and has no desire to spend the night at my mom's house much less a friend's.

Part of missing my ponies so much is attached to my ocd and everything is wrong in my house right now. I really miss talking to them. I know that makes me sound awfully lonely and maybe I am. Either way, it's going to be a rough few months.

Hellogoodbye, I'm glad you found them. It must have been such a happy day. :) I might have to slip baby alphabet into my purse. I used to carry one everywhere, but my service dog's supposed to fulfill that need.

I miss some of my childhood ponies that I sold around age 8 or 9, but I've bought replacements of several of the most missed ones.

Regarding the ones I have now, no I don't miss them while I'm away.

We moved last September and I'm waiting to develop the basement so I can have a pony room again. They've all been in boxes and I miss them. I've pulled out a few favorites though and it helps to have them around my office. I still miss them tons and have messed up all their hair by digging through them to find certain ones at the bottom of the box, lol.

Yes, though I didn't realize how much I missed them. I took a break from collecting, sold some ponies, and was thinking of just selling them all because I got very depressed and had no energy or interest in doing anything. Well, the lack of energy prevented me from selling very many ponies, which is good. I've gotten excited about collecting again and this morning I spent some time re arranging some pony shelves, dusting & combing, and just admiring them. It hit me then how much I've missed simply being around my ponies.

I missed my childhood ponies a whole lot but fortunately I've managed to replace my old favourites now (including one rogue My Little Angel pet that I mistook for a Pony Friend!) Sometimes I take breaks from pony stuff in general to pursue other interests, but I don't particularly miss my ponies during these times as they're always there on their shelf.

When we first moved from our Apt to our house, we had our toys packed away for 1 1/2 years I think. I missed my collection a lot and it was so exciting unpacking it and displaying them again! We only had 2 large bookcases and one DVD bookcase at our Apt. Now we have 4 large bookcases, 2 DVD bookcases (this is where my ponies live), and one medium bookcase plus some odds and ends in various places! And we still don't have all of our collection displayed.

I was so happy to find my herd in the attic but one was missing, turns out she was in a dresser drawer of all places. I miss mine when I am on vacation.

I know even though they arent very far away I should get them out once in awhile. SO many to look at though I get overwhelmed sometimes. I do love them of course. I just need to spend a little more time with them and a custom im working on too.
