My name is Patty P...

How old are you? Erm... 63 years old. Old as sin and as slow as molasses. Probably older than most participants.
 
Where do you live? State, Country? North Texas, USA

Do you work or attend school? Profession or major? I majored in Fine Arts but had to walk away in my second year when my father died of a heart attack on the treadmill at the local spa. I was 19 yrs old. I have worked in water purification, general sales and clerk positions, managed a string of convenience stores, a garden center, lastly my own water treatment business for 18 years. After retiring, went back to work daily as Treasury Secretary for a church. While working there, was hit by a car (as a pedestrian) in the legs in 2001 and could no longer work.  I am retired/disabled now.

Who are the important people in your life? My hub, my cat, my favorite pet chicken!

Um... I'm embarassed to say I don't have any MLP ponies. I am here to learn from your mad crafting skills!  I hope that's okay?
I watched my first episode of MLP on TV yesterday. Does that count? I didn't catch her name, but the queen pony had crazy beautiful rainbow hair.

I do general crafts and am working on a project that will involve using Angelina film and wire. I found a tutorial in the forums for making wings that looked cool, but could not view the pics until I was a member.

Although the main focus of the site is ponies, we're a pretty friendly and creative community in general, and I'm sure you'll be welcome here. You're not the first person to join because of wanting to learn how to make things.

By the way, the 'queen pony' was probably Princess Celestia (although it's been a while since I've watched the show):

Hi and welcome to the arena!

You are a little young to be getting into ponies but that's OK!  There is some debate as to whether Celestia's hair is like that due to her use of strong magic or maybe it is due to her custom pony craft so if you do well you may get that hair after all!   (no promises)

We're so glad you joined us!  Check out the Customs forum and the Arts and Crafts forums to learn stuff and don't forget to share what you make with us by posting pictures in the Customs forum.  If there is anything you need and can't seem to find without too much trouble please feel free to start your own thread to discuss your topic!

(don't tell anyone I told you this, but plenty of other members don't have any ponies either)

You can find all of the show on dailymotion.com and the episodes are searchable by name or by "S1 E1" or Season 1, Episode 1 etc. and I recommend starting from the beginning and watching all the way through (I did and got into this just last November!).  If you can watch them all within one week you will end up with Celestia hair for sure (not recommended).  If you get hooked and run out of pony to watch that's OK because there are plenty of older generation episodes to watch too.
