RIT Dye Insanity
« on: April 30, 2016, 03:39:18 PM »

Thank you everyone for the advice!!

Hi all,

So I finally got my bait, got my dye, and got excited to make my first custom.
After pouring in the dye (with water) and putting my bait G1 Moondancer in nothing happened

I tried boiling the water next. Again, nothing.

I used liquid RIT and I am starting to think its the problem.

Does liquid not work on dyeing bodies?
Someone please let me know!

Liquid does not work the greatest from what I understand.

I tried the liquid RIT on Stockings.  I barely discolored her even after 15 minutes of boiling.

I bought some crystallized dye, maybe I'll have better luck!

As with my experience, the only dye that works is the powder rit dye, you need to have the water boiling and add dye salt so the dye secures better onto the pony, liquid dye does not work, also the darker the dye the better it will take onto the pony plastic, good luck x

Sorry for the incorrect placement of my post! I know this is in customs now~

Thank you everyone for the advice! I was able to dye the Moondancer after a bit of extra hot boiling!

Oh man! I stopped buying powdered dye because I thought I might have better luck avoiding blotchiness with the liquid! That's what I get! :P

I've honestly used black liquid RIT dye a long time ago to dye a pony and it did work.
I don't know what others did but I actually mixed a cap full of the dye with water and heated it up like with the powdered dye. The pony took the dye alright but I haven't messed with him since.
