I think you might be right, they must have gotten suspicious about the amount of payments I had been getting.
I had the same warning a few years back so I know they keep a look out for things like this, I was hoping this would bring me in some extra cash that I desperately need right now

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Stupid paypal.  They probably do look for certain things I guess- and probably the "gift" part of it is what messed things up.  Most people probably wouldn't get that many gifts I guess?

Still, it does seem a little odd they'd give you a suspension warning- I mean, how would they KNOW?  Maybe it was your birthday ?

I had a warning before, several years ago, they even sent me the link to the very page on the arena where I held my raffle, they didn't do that this time they just gave me the straight warning!
They know it's not my birthday and each payment was names 'custom'
I could try again with my husbands PayPal? He's had no warnings!!! x

Sadly, I had also thought of that but I have to believe it wasn't anyone malicious or I will just get really paranoid everytime I make a custom!

True-   It really could just as easily be some kind of algorithm they have for spotting such things.

Oooh- I know a way around it.

You could SELL stickers! OR TINY sketches!!  Or maybe even electronic "prints" (jpg files) of some of your customs!  And then raffle the receipts for a "bonus" surprise- wouldn't that work?

I'm so sorry you had to cancel your raffle. I was tempted to buy some tickets myself. Well, rules are rules - I don't know how they found out, but I guess receiving multiple 'gifts' within a short period of time can look suspicious to them. Besides, the Arena is not a closed forum, a simple Google search with your PP address could bring up this topic, although I'm not sure they bother to do research like that.

They definitely do this. I tried to run a raffle to raise money for my sick kitty a while ago and they traced it back to my website where I had it posted. When Paypal contacted me about it they even sent me the link to my website like "yeah we see what you're doing."

I, too, had thought about selling something small if I do a raffle again. Stickers or digital images or something. Then you just 'happen' to get an entry into a raffle as a bonus for purchasing >.>

That's really clever guys!
I will look into doing that, I have tones of custom supplies I can sell as tickets!
I will work something out next week, I have some job interviews coming up so can't concentrate on much at the moment lol x
