Hah, didn't go too well with us, Finland didn't make it to the final. Somehow I'm not surprised. :P I don't think our entry was that bad - it was nothing special either, though, it sounded like a generic Eurovision song.

The only thing which makes me a bit sad about Eurovision is that more and more the songs are in English language.

Please do not be offended all nice members from country with English as official Language  ^.^ I do love English for sure !!

But to my mind Eurovision should show and present us lovely songs in different languages. This would be great to hear real different languages   ;)

I agree with you. I was sad to learn that in most countries the broadcasting companies do not provide subtitles for the lyrics. Here the show has always been aired with subtitles, it's certainly helpful to know what the songs are about! I'm not sure what the other countries are that do this but there are only a couple, to my knowledge.

I actually liked the language switch in France's entry, not sure if they're going to keep it for the actual performance or stick to French, but I think it was well executed, it was subtler than I had expected. :) I knew they were going to switch to English at some point (most likely the refrain), but I think they only did it once (the 2nd time?) which worked pretty nicely in my opinion.

I think I watched a bit of it last year via a live feed but it doesn't normally air here :)

Yes there is a live stream for those who don't live in Europe. Every year I hear on the show how many non-european countries are watching. That's why Australia competes too.
And if you don't have the time, all songs can be found on youtube :)

I'm planning to watch it while Aflame falls asleep next to me, lol! I organised a sweepstake at my work which helps add some fun. I pulled out Sweden and Croatia. I spent most of the week showing people videos of their entry to see if they were any good, hehe! Should be fun anyhow as I have two other countries aside from the UK to cheer for! The winner gets £42!

I am following it! ^^ Missed out on the second Semi-Final so cannot say much about the contestants in that, but from the first Semi-Final I really liked the Dutch contestant and the Hungarian too... + the dutch guy is really cute imo. Currently watching the finale :)

I think Australia is my favourite this year (I loved their song last year, too!), closely followed by Croatia and Austria. No strong feelings however, may the best song win!

That was a bummer for the dutch people. I think other acts were better than the Ukraine.
Justin Timberlake was cool.

Loved it but felt like a poor song won. I think my faves were Russia, Australia and Lithuania :) Though the highlight for me was the interval show with Swden just taking the mick out of Eurovision XD I was howling with laughter at that XD
