Where do you buy lots of ponies.

I know you can buy lots of ponies on ebay and goodwill or here!   I am always seeing posts where people are surprised by the ponies that come in the lot...since the other sites have photos, where are these "surprise" lots being purchased?  Thanks for the help.

Seems to be from thrift / charity shops where second hand items get donated. I've never been lucky to find any ponies lol. Hopefully I will one day X

Back in the day (about 1999-2000) we used to pick them up at second hand/flea markets.  Very sadly, there aren't really any of those markets around now *cries*.  They were the BEST, like a treasure hunt, as kids we'd race around trying to grab all the ponies before someone else bought them!

As for now... prettymuch ebay.  I've never seen any in thrift shops though, but some people have luck.  I have dreams about finding ponies at thrift shops a lot, though!

Mostly people are finding things on Ebay, I imagine. I have luck at thrift stores here and there. (Actually found  about 38 G1 last month) Just check thrift stores, Craigslist, garage sales.

Depends on generation. G3 is still fairly plentiful at yard sales and thrift stores and the occasional craigslist "getting rid of my daughter's ponies" ad.

Yes Craigslist.org in my area has a few lots but aside from a couple of very small lots, the same lots I was looking at a month ago are still up and not good deals.  During that time I bought maybe 50 ponies between eBay and here, and in thrift stores I found a Build-a-Bear G4 plush and some McDonalds G4s but no G1s or G3s so far....happy hunting though...you never know!.

Last night I was looking at Craigslist to see what might have been added and there weren't any new My Little Ponies but there was this great and disappointing little hoax pony listing:  I called this morning and was so disappointed that I am not even embarrassed to have been fooled:

Thanks for the tips!  Many years ago I could find G1's in the wild at a local flea market.  The only ones I see there now are actually double ebay's prices!

I'm a new collector and the only pony I have ever found "in-the-field" was a G1 Peachy that I bought and rehaired. It's a bummer you can't find that many out and about, but I always find good sellers here and (sometimes) on Ebay!

Thrift stores, antique malls and garage sales are fun to look in but a hit-and-miss sort of thing.
More fun to me than doing Ebay because it's a luck of the draw! You never know what will pop up!
The other day I found a thermos with Megan and Sundance on.

If you don't wanna use this place or Ebay, then don't give up on those 3 things. Look everytime you're nearby because you can find something at a place that had nothing your previous visit.

I've found ponies at moms group swaps, craigslist, eBay, shopgoodwill.com, etsy, gone-tomorrow, yard sales, Facebook groups, Facebook moms swap groups, and the arena is hands down the best. love this group!

I've found lots of ponies twice at thrift, but it's been a few years since that's happened. 

Very occasionally, I've also had eBay sellers stick in extra items that I wasn't expecting.  Bought a lot once, and the buyer found (and added) Megan.  Another time, it was a g1 toddler book.  This has happened here, too, where I've had sellers add everything from dolly mix ponies to stickers to the items I've bought.

It's always a really nice surprise when that happens.
