Removing Sticky Residue from Backcards
« on: March 27, 2016, 07:50:24 PM »
Anyone know how to remove the sticky residue that sometimes stays on Backcards after you separate them from the plastic bubble?

I collect Backcards , G4 back cards to be clear, but about half the time the adhesive is partially left on the back card after opening.

I've tried airing them out, and even put one where the heater vent would blow warm air on it, but nothing has worked yet.

Suggestions?  I need to address this because I don't want the sticky damaging other cards in storage.  I don't want to damage the print on either side.

THANKS!

G3s and G4s usually have a lot of tape residue, and usually I just rub on it with my thumb until it comes off:/  I haven't found a faster or better way, and it's not perfect by any means.  My advice would be after you use whatever method you want(mine or maybe someone knows a better one and will post it), get some parchment paper.  Store the cards with a piece of parchment paper between them so even if you don't get 100% of the sticky off, the card won't get further damaged.

I use page protectors for storing mine. :)  They won't damage your cards, clip into a binder for easy viewing from both sides and there are many types available inexpensively at the big box stores.  Even with sticky on them, once they are in the plastic sleeve, they are still removable.
