Overheard some little kids

Two days ago, I painted Easter eggs with my class of 4-5 year old Chinese kids.
We were sitting together around small tables, baby chairs, using pretty water colours and everybody was happy. The little ones started chatting about colours, some girl said she liked blue, and of the boys said that blue was for boys, pink for girls. I didn't quite catch how the subject got changed, but another boy said FiM was for girls and he still liked to watch it. And suddenly all the other seven kids said that they love to watch it too! That's six boys and two girls. It was so cute listening to them. I wanted to tell them about my collection of over 600, but they wouldn't have understood my English, and I am not allowed to talk Chinese in class, obviously. FiM is really becoming more and more popular over here. So funny.

How cute! I love hearing kids refute that something has to be for one gender, and it's so nice that mlp can do that!

What a cute story! Is there a way you can do a lesson plan around your ponies and bring some in to show the kids? They'd probably love that!

I have used toys before when some kids were really scared of me in the beginning. As a lesson plan, I love the idea, my school however, ... I will think about it!
