G1 Seaflower - Help color matching?
« on: March 12, 2016, 01:05:28 AM »
Which DH colors mostly closely match G1 Seaflower's original hair colors?  I have an idea of which colors but it's been so long since I have been re-hairing I thought I would double check here and hopefully get some good advice.  Here is what she looks like: (note, this is not my picture its just for reference)

Oh, I should know this! I have a rerooted Seaflower. The blue is Forget me Not. As for the color changing strip, that I'm not sure about.

According to MLP Hair Matching Guide
The blue is DH's Forget Me Not

As far as color change, My Little Customs is the only one I know of that sells the UV hair, it's a polypropylene hair though

Oh wow, I feel so stupid now!!  I totally forgot about the color change hair they had!  Thanks for reminding me.  I'm glad Forget me Not is a match though.

Tuneful, can you post a picture of your re-rooted Seaflower?  I'd love to see her!

She is gorgeous!  Thank you so much for taking the time to grab a few pictures!  Is the white stripe just regular hair, not coloring changing?  I'm for sure going to root her in For Get Me Not, as you suggested since its her original color, and I am considering using one of these hairs for the stripe: http://www.dollyhair.com/pilothair.htm   Of course it won't be quite like the original but at least I can get the color changing aspect of it.  What do you think?

Thank you!

The stripe is just regular white hair regrettably. Hmm...I like purple to pink. Definitely not the brown. The blue could be neat if you wanted the stripe to "disappear" in the sun. I think purple in it is a must though!

It's a shame they don't have a thermal for white to purple.
RetroDolls.uk and RetroDollsUS has some other thermal colors as well ;)

I used Forget-Me-Not for the blue, and a combination of Raspberry Sorbet and either Pussycat or Virgin Snow (or maybe both?? It's been a while) to make it look like her streak was in the process of changing colors.

Please excuse her hairstyle. I just pulled her out of a storage bin to snap a quick pic.

Thanks, LaW!

LPU: that is gorgeous! Ugh, I wish i did that!

I think maybe I will curl her hair this week. It's been straight for so long and I've always seen Seaflower as a wavy-haired kind of gal.

Thank you!!  :good: After I figured out that  it's impossible to straighten and defrizz color-changing hair without melting it, I rehaired 5 of this set like that, using a mix of Virgin Snow, Raspberry Sorbet, and Pussycat for the color-changing streak. I was lucky enough to find Beach Ball with near-mint, unfrizzed hair.
