Hasbro Jem questions
« on: January 08, 2016, 02:22:36 PM »
I've never had any Jem dolls before but would like to own one, but the only one I found selling here in my country only has a nude Hasbro Aja for 2-3USD. I would not mind having her but first, I would like to know,
Is that a good price for her?
Can the original body wear barbie clothes? What shoes can they wear?
Can their heads be rebodied to any of the modern articulated barbies or even Liv? (Will certainly make finding clothes easier. I've actually seen them rebodied on Moxie Teenz bodies but those are harder and more expensive to find)

thanks!

I think that is a quite decent price!  The vintage dolls however can NOT wear Barbie clothes, and their feet fit Jem shoes only (Maybe Ken shoes but I'm not positive).  The inability to share clothes with Barbie may actually be the reason the line crashed and burned.

I doubt that because otherwise MH would have never taken off. It was because of how expensive they were that they didn't last. Lots of kids wanted Jem but had to settle for a cheaper Rocker Barbie.

Since she can't wear Barbie clothes can her head be rebodied on an articulated Barbie or Liv body?

The Hasbro Jem dolls are quite a bit larger than Barbie so I think that would look odd- at least I've never heard of anyone doing that.  But it isn't too hard these days to find loose Jem clothes on ebay-  there are also SOME barbie things that MIGHT fit- so long as they aren't fitted or too short...

You might try asking for advice here: http://jemcon.org/?q=forum

Jem can fit in Shoezies toy shoes.  Often you have to boil the shoe to heat the plastic to stretch the strap over her foot.

I read this "fact" somewhere online back in 2004ish - can't find it anywhere now after a quick search.

Of course Shoezies are not made anymore the best I know....

Vintage Jem dolls can wear some Moxie Teenz shoes.  Also I have some Disney tinker bell shoes that fit too.  They are the ones with big feet, the shoes are flats.  I have also been able to get jem to wear vintage Mego Wonder Woman orange boots lol.  Jem can wear some barbie clothing but definitely not the pants.
