Not just the mail orders but Diamond Dreams as well!
And Princess Pristina!
But yeah, sorry you didn't win this one. Who knows, though, maybe you'll find the TAF babies at a flea market for ¢25 each someday!

Wow that is an astounding lot!

Try thinking of it like this: if it had gone through auction, it would have gone up to that amount at the end anyway.
So unless you were willing to spend more than the ultimate high bidder in the off-ebay situation, the high bidder likely would have stepped in and sniped the auction had it finished on Ebay, sad to say.  :(  It was always an auction, no matter what!  *pony hugs*

A lovely chance to have more ponies WILL happen - it always does!

If the seller took $1200 for that lot, she went low.  The way pony prices are going lately, I bet she could have easily pulled $1500 for that lot, if not more.

Although consider that for a $1500 sale on ebay, ebay will take $150 and paypal will take $45...

And also consider that ebays current rules allow buyers to defraud sellers SO easily.  I think it would be especially easy with a big lot like this...

I think the bad rules and high ebay fees motivate sellers also to take best offers when they are worried about not getting what they need to out of their stuff.

True that Galactica!  The fees definitely add up.  Although any paypal transaction runs the risk of having a buyer defraud you I think. :(  I know I'm still paranoid with some of my larger sales since they have 6 months to change their minds now.  For no reason at all it seems. I've been lucky so far and never had it happen, but it's always a concern in the back of my mind.

Yeah, I guess it can happen anywhere!  I have been selling my high value dolls only to other trusted collectors.  Things have become pretty nasty out there, and the stories I read are very discouraging in terms of how ebay (or paypal probably) will react to obvious attempts at fraud.

In the doll community- the latest thing is that people (sadly, usually from overseas) will buy an expensive doll, and then claim that it is chipped or has some kind of flaw when received and demand a partial refund...

I guess the same kind of thing can happen with pony people, I would think ESPECIALLY with lots when describing every single flaw is basically impossible.
