I figured someone else must have two different colored Whizzers but I always thought of the difference to be like German light Speedy. I did see both variations on My Little Wiki but I suppose it must be a batch variation. My two:

Maybe you can see it too, but the darker one's eyes are darker too. I had to shine a bright light on her to find out if they were also blue but they're more purple than blue. No fading of hair so I think this is just how she is.  ^.^

Even in the cartoon I don't think they settled on what color she was supposed to be. Via mylittlewiki.org :

Why are these two such different shades? They are identical in every other way. Just curious.

lol! To be fair, it looks like one of those screencaps is from a scene taking place during the day, while the other is taking place at night

Whizzer had a mail order release?  Do you have any more information on that?  I've never heard of the Twinkle-Eyes being available by mail order.

I found it last night and am trying to get back to that page. I clearly remember it stating that is why they are different. I have a lot of internet history to go through so it might be a moment.

Whoops my bad. Getting my pink ponies mixed up. Its was Sprinkles that I was thinking about (did too much reading last night >.<) Playset Sprinkles and Mail order Sprinkles come in two different pinks.

Does anyone know if the French Whizzers tend to be more of one shade or the other?

Ah, I was going by the wiki, which says that French Whizzer came with a different sticker, but still made in HK.
Maybe thought if there were two different production lines for one pony, color switching might be a thing? just a wild guess
