Until October, I was very strict collecting only G1, but now... even some fakies are welcome.

I get around it like this.

I only COLLECT G1. I only go out actively to find G1 stuff. However, if something from another gen is pretty and I like it, I might buy it.

To me "collecting" is trying to obtain all different types, seriously pursuing all releases, and accessories and such. So I don't collect the other generations. I just have some of them for fun

This also happened to me when I saw the G3s in the stores when I was only after G1s. So I have over a 1000 ponies and counting. I have a multi-gen herd and throw in some G1 fakies its a ponyville,dream valley, or equestria land.
