Has anyone ever sunfaded successfully a big talking white Celestia?
The search function worked once here (didn't turn up anything but) then it kind of quit. So if this has been posted before...sorry
The story:
At a flea, I found a big talking Celestia that I thought would be a great bait. I've always kind of wanted to customize one of these into a "Princess Masquerade" with a full repaint rehair and all the works. BUT I REFUSE to customize a nice pony who could be cleaned up and then collected. So this Celestia is covered in black goop, red paint all on the legs, crayon scribble blue & purple everywhere, and is just a mess. So I'm like "Win! Custom!"
But, to repaint anything you've got to clean it up.
So I get to scrubbing and.......everything comes off. To my total surprise. She still flaps, lights up, works. Go to fix the hair and it turns out after a wash not only is it uncut but it still does original curl. She's actually great under all the grime.
The only problem left is her face.
Whatever they scribbled her face with, stuck. It washed off to a pastel degree but there's still orange on the nose, red on the horn and blue wiggles beside the eyes. I do know that dream beauties and other hard plastic horses DONT take well to sun fading, instead they turn nasty yellow. So I want to ask before I may ruin because a custom is out...but a perfectly good pony may be in for some collector (I've already got one) if I can fix the face.
If anybody's had past experience with restoring one of these, it'd be much appreciated!
