Does the US have import taxes on G1 MLP?

I read somewhere that the US does not collect import duties on VINTAGE toys.  Is this correct?  I also saw that we have free trade with Australia and a few other countries.  So when should I have to worry about being hit with customs for a MLP related item?  The only thing I buy are G1 ponies and accessories.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but we do not have customs fees for toys. At least not as citizens, corporations might but you should never pay import taxes or custom fees.

nope you don't have to pay customs fees/import taxes on toys in the US so you're fine to buy G1s without worrying about getting hit with a tax      (I wish I could say the same of the UK!!)

No, USPS doesn't collect import duties on toys for personal use.  If you imported an entire alibaba shipment, then yes, as it would be a commercial transaction.
An individual personally?  Buying ponies off the Internet?  Yeah, the US is lucky (and a  bit spoiled!) like that...  pony collecting is a LOT cheaper for you all!  Imagine if every time you ordered something online, there was 5-10% more tax thrown on it...

*nods* that's one reason why US collectors are so baffled the first few times they sell internationally; I didn't even know customs fees were a thing until after I joined here, they aren't covered in school or anything.
