Question for Customizers about Apoxie Sculpt

So I'm hearing that a lot of people seem to love Aves Apoxie Sculpt for sculpting on ponies. My question is where do you usually get it? I found it on the Aves website and I also found it on Amazon for a higher price.  What does everyone prefer?

Has anyone had any trouble ordering from the Aves website? I ordered some Apoxie Sculpt from their site but seem to be having trouble receiving it. It took the company two weeks before they took my money through paypal and now several days later I've yet to hear about when my order might arrive let alone when it might be shipped. I tried emailing them last week and have not heard anything back. So I am left wondering is this common for this company to take so long with orders? Or should I have just paid the extra cost and ordered from Amazon?

I'd appreciate anyone's input as to if this is a common occurrence or if I need to look into getting my money back. Its really frustrating being dead in the water on my customs because I'm waiting for this one product to arrive

Two of my local hobby stores carry it.  It is cheaper than the Aves website and no shipping.  Call around to your smaller, locally owned modeling hobby shops (not Michael's or Hobby Lobby) and ask if they carry.  Good luck!

Can't help you much as I always order it from a Finnish taxidermy store that carries it.  I second cookhuman's advice, there may be a store close to you that carries it

I bought fro Aves for years. I found someone on etsy last time I ordered that was *slight* cheaper than Aves

I buy it on Amazon-  you can get 1 lb shipped free (if you have prime) for $17-  or the cheapest option is 4lb.

I order Magic Sculpt off of eBay. Usually in white. Haven't had any problems with the product or the seller. Ordering another 5lb tub once I get a little more cash.

I usually call Aves directly as ordering online has produced "issues" in the past.  Haven't had any problems receiving products and I've been ordering directly from them for year.  But I would definitely suggest "Calling" them directly and speaking to a live person.

Local hobby and craft stores around here don't seem to carry apoxie sculpt so I guess I'm stuck getting it shipped.

Has anyone had trouble getting responses from Aves before? My husband has tried calling them a few times over the past week and all he seems able to do is leave a message. And no one has returned his calls. I'm starting to feel like live people don't exist at this company.

Has anyone else recently had trouble contacting Aves? 2 weeks of phone calls and emails has not come to anything. I've had to put a claim into Paypal since I've still no word when I'll get the product I ordered.

Truthfully it's really discouraging to me. I've gone ahead and ordered some apoxie sculpt from Amazon but I can't help being disappointed that an entire month of my time was wasted.

I actually changed over to magic sculpt, many model horse artist have as well.  It is less sticky then apoxie sculpt and just more agreeable to work with.  I just really like it better.  Had ordered from Aves directly but that was years ago, shall check the Blab for you and see if anyone their is reporting any issues.
