Any advice on collecting SquishyPops?
« on: October 20, 2015, 02:19:16 PM »
Okay... These SquishyPops have puzzled my head.  :dizzy:

My Walmart just got them in. They're in a tall, thin "dispenser" type display box with a pop-out at the bottom where some of the balls collect. I've bought nine so far, and have ended up with six Sweetie Belles and three Apple Blooms.

Is there any sort of... strategy(?) to the way they're put into the display boxes? I honestly love these little buggers, and want to get more... But at the same time I don't really need an army of tiny Sweetie Belles. XD

My theory, based on the ones I've gotten, is that the display boxes are filled in layers; the first two times I got some, I just picked three out of the "bowl" and both times, all three balls contained Sweetie Belle. Last night, I dug up into the "body" of the box a bit more, and ended up with three Apple Blooms.

So... Any advice on collecting them without getting quite so many duplicates?

I don't think I've actually ever seen these balls in the stores around here.  I recently discovered they existed though, and really want a Lyra and Fluttershy.  They are SO cute!

I was at a pony meet in KY last weekend and there was one girl there who had a handful of loose ones.  She too said that she got a bunch of Sweetie Belle's and that was what she had the most of.  She also had Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and one Pinkie Pie.  So I'm wondering if that is all that is available in this first "wave" of boxes?  I have found Applejack and Rarity at TRU and Michael's in packaging on a backcard, but so far searches around here have not produced any other characters.

I used to see them for only a little while and once they sold out at the few stores I saw them at I never saw them again.. :/ Anyone know where you can still find them? Also I think in that other thread they figured out the numbers for a couple of them. I have Fluttershy and Scootaloo only, and when I tried to buy a few I got the stupid charms and another Fluttershy.. haven't had much luck with these

I found these in local Aus Targets. They had the balls ($3), the charm packs ($6) and fashion packs ($15). You can get Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and the CMC in the charm packs. Twilight, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Lyra, Bonbon & Trixie in the fashion packs. I don't know what characters you can get in the balls, the numbers are confusing and I decided not to risk it and just get the Main 6.

It's pretty crummy that you can't buy all the characters in the cheaper charm packs, but good news, the three bracelets in the fashion packs can be connected into a necklace lol.

My advice on collecting them, don't haha! They turn out being more expensive than you think. Good luck! :P

Also, random question: are the bracelets pink or grey in the US? It's all pink down here! Plus the Rainbow Dash has blue in her main, all the pics I've seen of her have green instead? Aus variants? Lol

The numbers on the clock is the closest  I have seen to a working theory on how to ensure you get (or dont get) certain ponies. :)

I've seen people mention that but I don't understand the detail. Is it meant to be the number in the middle of the clock with the arrow between it? Or is it the number the arrow is pointing to? I shook a few of them yesterday but none of them rattled either.

The link Wardah has posted and the explanation given by Katika is good. Its the number the arrow is pointing to I believe.
