Did Ponyland have an 'official' map?

There is a official map for Equestria but is there one for G1 Ponyland?

Not as far as I know, unless the MLP & Friends show bible had one.

It was pretty vague geographically, like in the movie Dream Castle is right next to Paradise Estate and then DC just . . . evaporates into the ether or something.

(There's ONE MLP & Friends episode where you can catch a quick glimpse of it in a panning shot, but other than that Dream Castle is just gone.)

Didn't the "Adventures in Ponyland" game poster have a map on one side?

I dont think you could ever say there was anything official. G4 and G1 are very different entities when it comes to their supporting information. Things like the Adventure Game is perhaps the closest you could get to a laid out map that connects the main buildings in Pony Land but it misses out a lot of the other areas refered to in the media.

The UK playmats were a bit like maps, might be nice to look at if not quite what you're after

I always felt Ponyland was sort of vague, a catch-all place that expanded with each new story location.  It never seemed hugely thought out like Middle Earth or Westeros or Narnia.

And to me, it seems like there were numerous imaginings of it... the cartoons/movie was one, but then things like the Comics, which have sort of a quainter tone, being full of old-fashioned nursery rhyme characters, seem a little odd juxtaposed next to the 90s world of the Tales series, for instance.  I find it weird to have Dame Washerwoman's cottage next to Night Shade's rock-star concert stage or the Tales' ponies pizza shop.  To me each of those runs almost had their own versions of Ponyland.  Or at least Ponyland evolved over the decade span of G1.


Some of my favourite memories of Ponyland, though, were from the back cards and leaflets.  Like Glitter Island?  How cool is that! 

If anyone has pics of those playmats Artemesia mentioned, or similar stuff, would be really interested to see them!

I think I'm going to spend this winter painting the G1 Snow Ponies set Hasbro never got around to designing, and creating a G1 ponyland map... I have one in my head- time to get it on canvas!

Oh they did like how to do breaks with multiple story parts, and how long the music numbers were to be and so forth.

How cool to have a Writer's Guide with all types on info the average pony fan wouldn't know about - for example Snow Ponies!  I wonder how many were made, still in existence today, and how many are in the pony collecting community???

I just wish all the pages made it, info that was changed for some reason or other. Like Majesty's profile, curious what they had planned for her before they took her out. And all the info of how to write for it that was replaced.
