Favorite pony (or other character!) from each Generation?

[Sparkle Pony]

I just thought this would be interesting since you hear people talk about their favorite characters overall, but not by each generation too often.

G1: Majesty easily, I love her persona in the G1 comics.  She's such a psycho!  Talk about royalty that actually does things, she's always pretty busy subjecting her enemies to fates worse than death and doing vaguely menacing things with a smile on her face.  The 80s must have been crazy.  She has nice striking colors too, very nice.

G2: Not too much to go on as far as personality, but I really like Prince Firefly.  I like how he has some really dark purple colors but also extremely bright chartreuse too.  I also really like fireflies so he's a winner for me!

G3: Waterfire, I love her colors and her contradiction theme.  I made her a lawyer in my herd because she reminds me of Phoenix Wright, haha...  I also like her backcard story with her trying to read on the beach but everyone wants her to watch them dive into the water, it's very cute.

G4: Sunset Shimmer, by a long shot.  I really like her brushable, I'm a sucker for her yellow and orange colors.  She has such cute eyes too!  I also actually really like her in the EQG movies, she seems really relatable to me.  She's like a more grounded Twilight Sparkle with some nice character development.

You've heard mine, now tell me yours!  Feel free to skip a generation if you don't know much about it or just don't like it.

G1: Nachtlicht/Nightlight, I also really like Applejack. Cartoon-wise, Morning Glory She's such a sweetheart, especially in "The End of Flutter Valley"!

G2: IVY!!!! My first pony, she has always and will always be my absolute favourite of all <3333

G3: tie between Pumpkin Tart and Port-o-Bella. For Pumpkin Tart, I love Halloween themes and I looove her colours. And her symbol is a cat!! I love cats! <3
As for Port-o-Bella.. idk, to be honest! I LOVE the Diva pose (I think it's my absolute favourite pony pose out of all of the gens) and her colours and symbol are all so cute. Also I like her hat.

G4: Holly Blue/Trixieshy! I dunno why, I just love her. If we're not counting factory oddballs, then I'd say my fave would have to be Trixie Lulamoon. *predictable* I love her colourscheme, I love G4 unicorns.. I like what I've seen of her in the cartoon, too. :p
Cartoon-wise, I've only ever seen a few eps of FiM (not really interested in it), but I love the Flim Flam Brothers.

[Artemesia's Garden]

Gen 1 its Twilight, with her mysterious magic. Gen 2 I don't do, and I don't really know the characters in G 3 although I love the dolls and have a lot of them. Gen 4 my favorite character is Pinkie Pie, but Discord comes a close second.I only watched series 1 to 4 though.

I was surprised at how difficult it was to answer these! There are so many great and beautiful designs out there, picking just four was like pulling teeth, lol. My decisions were based on the designs; I don't really follow the canon personalities for ponies.

G1: Heart Throb. <3

G2: Definitely Ivy; she's so beautiful and elegant. *high-fives Carrehz*

G3: Star Catcher, for his* gorgeous design. Three of my favorite colors in one pony!

G4: I'm not all that familiar with G4, but probably Photo Finish.

*An official G3 book referred to Star Catcher as male, so I've always thought of him as being such.

Wow, Ivy seems to be a very popular G2 pick though.  I do love her colors, such a pretty girl~

G1: Toywise, Glory & Surprise.
Character-wise, I've always loved Paradise in the cartoons; she has such a lovely voice & is a daydreaming bookworm like me.  Surprise is a close second.

G2: Toywise, Copper Glow: that gorgeous colour combination is so striking. Princess Crystal too, as she was a childhood favourite.
Character-wise, Sun Sparkle/Sundance. I love her adventurous personality. Moonshadow really appeals to me as well. In the magazines, she always came out to play at night when the other ponies were fast asleep.

G3: It's a three-way tie between Butterscotch, Autumn Skye & Wishawhirl. There are so many stunning designs & colour schemes that it's difficult to narrow my favourites down. 
I have a huge soft spot for Denim Blue & Cherry Blossom too.

G4: I don't care for the toyline, but I'd probably pick Lily Blossom & Honeybuzz as my favourites of the bunch.
Character-wise, I adore Applejack.

G1:  I'd probably say Applejack. Her design is one of my favorites, and she is a very silly pony.

G2:  I know virtually nothing about G2, but two designs that caught my eye are Ivy and Sky Skimmer.

G3: My favorite is Thistle Whistle. I love the G3 Pegasi because of the cute stubby little wings, and Thistle Whistle I always found adorable in the cartoons.

G4: Look to your left at my information. I think this one is obvious.

G1: Wind Whistler  She was smart and her colors are amazing
G2: Ivy, her colors attract me like a bee to a flower LOL
G3: Whistle Wishes- Toy wise. Lily Lightly-Cartoon Wise. Thistle Whistle Color wise
G4: AJ!

G1: Princess Serena -- She looks like she is essentially a ponysona for the heroine of my first novel, who's name is Sarenna. Plus, I love her colors and her symbol. How could I resist?

Runner Up: Coco Berry -- He is a tribute to my dog, and yes he is a boy.

G2: Copper Glow -- Gorgeous color combo!

Runner up: Princess Silverswirl. So elegant and beautiful. I go back and forth on her and Copper Glow a lot.

G3: Desert Blossom -- She has a cactus, she's bright pink, and she has green hair. It was love at first sight. I even have both a loose and MOC of her. (I have a whole wall of G3s, but she's my hands down favorite.)

Runner Up: Secret Wish -- Probably my favorite g3 in terms of appearance. The only reason Desert Blossom beats her is because Desert Blossom is also a reference to one of my book characters who can manipulate plants and speak to her pet cactus.

G4: Rarity -- I like G4 for the show and I'm not as crazy for the toyline (much prefer g1 and g3), but Rarity tends to be an exception. I have several fairly unique and very pretty versions of her, and it makes sense since she's my favorite FiM character, too.

Runner Up: Dewdrop Dazzle, who is hands down my favorite g4 design to date. My mom found her for me at Value Village and she has one of the nicest spots in my room, right on the corner of my dresser. She's probably the last thing I see before going to sleep. So cute!
