I finally got around making a tutorial for one of my favorite kind of dresses. Hopefully I'm going to have the next part up in a few days, but I cant make any promises.
Anyways, today, I'll show you how to make this:

loginI'll be showing how to make a dress for a Celestia-model G4 pony, but you can apply this technique for all generations and poses.
First of all, yes, there is some sewing involved in this outfit. But! Its very minor work, and if I can do it, so can you!
So, step one, Materials:

loginYou will need:
-Fabric of your choosing, I used satin and patterned organza in navy blue. I used about 11 inches, or 29 cm of fabric for this, but you can adjust the length to fit your pony.
-Bobby Pins to hold everything in place (you can use regular pins, but here bobby pins are a lot easier to handle)
-Scissors
-Plastic embroidery needles and some string to hold it in place
-A pony, depicted here, her royal Highness, Queen Moon
Step two, Preparation:

loginPin the fabric like shown, even if you only have one layer, this will help you immensely.
Step three, Pinning and Testing:

loginCreate gentle folds and pin them in place, then compare against your pony to see if it fits(yes, your nail polish has to fit the fabric.)

loginStep four, Sewing:

loginStart on the bottom and use a running stitch till the end.(

loginIt should look like that when its finished. After that, clean off any stray strings and it should look like this:

loginLast step, securing the dress:

loginTake the embroidery needle and thread it slightly below the two ends, like shown in the picture.

loginWhen you did that, loop the string around the ponies wings(or torso, if it doesn’t have wings)

loginTighten it up and tie a little bow.
And you’re finished! The only thing that you have to do now is take a picture of your pretty picture and send it my way, so I can marvel at your superior sewing abilities!
