Can anyone here help me with Webs?
« on: September 12, 2015, 11:59:22 AM »
I have a webs website and I'd love to have my photo's on there like this site (someone else her site) :
http://blackroseinagarden.webs.com/photo-gallery

But all I can do is making an ugly album like this (my own site) :
http://typicaltish.webs.com/apps/photos/

Is the option in the first website a special premium function?

Thanks!

They are using CSS to code the webpage, which definitely has more functionality.

Iv never used Webs but from back in my days of having a similar webpage hosted by a different company.. I can second LBS that learning some CSS will definitely  come in handy when trying to make something that stands out. :) Good luck with it! Your pictures are stunning!

Thanks for the info (and for the compliment).
Since I have no experience with any coding and don't want my photo's in an album like they are now,
I'm going to delete my website.
Almost no one is watching my photo's BECAUSE they are in an album, and what's the use of having a website if no one is watching your portfolio.

because you may need it for potential employers?

CCS isn't that hard to learn hun--infact, they may have made it much easier since the time I learnt basic HTML :)

Maybe take it up as a side project^^

CSS is pretty simple to pick up, even if you don't have a full understanding of it (like me) its pretty easy to just learn what you need and implement it, things like youtube tutorials and even just googling specific features.. that's how I always edited CSS on my own. :p

Since I'm not a fashion model or agency represented, modeling is only my hobby.
It will probably never get me paid assignments (I did get some paid assignments in the past tho).

In the Netherlands everyone can call themselves a model as they've been in front of a camera once in their life, and everyone who owns a camera calls them self a photographer. Facebook has become the main form for communication between models and photographers, which is sad since people hardly look at each others websites anymore.

The owner of the example site must have used HTML since that's the only script-related thing you can use on webs.

I'm not going to learn how to do it myself, since it's not something I'm interested in.
I'd rather spend that time on getting my own place to live, finding a job and how to become a happy person again ^^

But since my website is free, I'm going to leave it like it is.

Thank you all for the help ^^ and for the compliments.

It's so funny, I also asked people on Facebook for help, but people here are so much friendlier and more helpful <3
I love pony-people :D

You wont consider taking 30 minutes to just learn (and code) the basics? Promise that's all it takes :)

Best of luck with things either way <3

Any templates you could use? Before I learned how to do HTML myself I found free templates online that I tweaked. Also I can't believe they wouldn't allow CSS since it's pretty much part of HTML.

I've already been looking at it for more than five hours, but I think it's hard and I don't understand it.
I can make a basic website front page etcetera, but I just can't figure out how to make a gallery, make it work and place it on my webs site

I've been looking at a lot of templates but I don't know how it works/how to make it myself. A basic website frontpage I can do, but a functioning gallery is to hard for me.

I'm not sure if webs only allows html and no CSS, but it has an "insert HTML" option, so I figured it means only HTML? I don't know.
