BBE Anatomy
« on: September 05, 2015, 12:41:20 PM »
I just recieved my second BBE pony today, and she has some pretty bad eye rust.  Which is actually one the reasons I bought her, because I wanted to fix her up.  Any recommendations, or even better, pictures of how it's set in her head and how it works?

I wish I had photos of when I took BBEs out of ponies...

The BBEs are a half metal/half plastic case that holds the eyes in the sockets. If you have ever taken eyes out of fakies or even some baby doll toys then you have a general idea of how they set in there... The issues with BBEs other than rust is putting them back into the pony's head..

Be very careful when cleaning a BBE - the small plastic pins on the eye itself that let it articulate are extremely thin and fragile.  If you push too hard on the eye it's very easy to snap them off and ruin the mechanism.
