I also look for Mario toys (especially Yoshi!), Breyers, anything Hamtaro...I came across a Sweetie Pups last time I went to a flea market, and am now keeping an eye out for them too. I usually only buy for my own collection,because I'm not too knowledgeable of what's valuable outside my own interests.

You all are so lucky - I've been to tons of vintage/antique shops (practically every single one in town and outside of), thrift shops, and the local flea market and the only pony toys I saw were a fakie and something G3.5 (which wasn't brushable), both at the flea market.

It must be because G3 is my favorite generation. It's supposed to be common, but since I like it and collect it, they're nowhere to be found. My luck. xD

Here is an added question for you all.  Do you pick up other toys for re-sale or trading or do you only buy for your own collection?

I don't usually buy toys I don't want for myself unless the ones I do want are part of a mixed bag. I haven't had the best of luck selling non-MLP items online, so unless there are some promising looking 80's-90's toys in the mix, I tend to donate the things I don't want to a different thrift store than the one I originally got the bag from.

We could also trade. It just would be nice to know what other people actually want so we aren't going blindly in. I mean I try to grab stuff that people would want but I'm never sure if I'm passing by something someone else might want that I don't know about.

I keep an eye out for any 80's/90's toys, like littlest pet shop, puppy in my pocket, happy meal toys, etc. I love finding stuff that I grew up with. It's harder now that the one thrift store I'd find stuff at stopped selling toys due to that stupid lead law, but I have found unique items like a get along gang dottie dog bank and Wuzzles plushies.

I look for Breyer horses and G2 Littlest Pet Shop!!  I also keep my eye out for Neopets and Pokemon things.  Also I always keep an eye out for figures/toys from that show Horseland.  Once I actually found the figure that I wanted most!!  It was such a lucky coincidence even if I had to buy a bag of stuff I didn't want at all to get her 

I also keep my eyes peeled for dolls that I like (such as American Girl and Monster High) and anime related toys.  Anime stuff doesn't pop up as often as I'd like it to!

Anything that I buy is for my own collections, but if I saw something that I knew was valuable but not something I was into I would buy it to sell it along.  Otherwise I don't want to deal with the hassle of reselling.

When I look for toys now I am mainly looking for G1 ponies. I will pick up other 80's toys that I need(most of my toy lines are near completion to my standards) and I will also pick up other 80's toys if in decent condition and the price isn't too high. I have been collecting for 16 years, so I have quite a few bags of toys that I have accumulated intending to sell, although I rarely seem to list them on eBay. I need to list a few each week so that I can clear out my upstairs storage room.  I used to do trades way back in the day. It seems I hardly come across any 80's toys in the wild anymore. When I go to toy conventions I will only buy what I need.

We actually had a local comic/anime convention the weekend before last, and someone was selling a few G1 ponies!! But most of them I pretty much had so I didn't get any. But I was also hunting for other things such as older manga and whatnot.

Besides ponies (including vintage and original hasbro mold fakies, tehe) I am always looking for general 80th toys. Popples and Keypers for my own collection, Pound Puppies for my daughter and anything else for trading. I raaaaarely sell the stuff I find but Im always open for trades.
