G1 Confetti Whitening/Disappearing Cancer?
« on: August 04, 2015, 08:03:08 PM »
I received a G1 Confetti in the mail the other day, and since she was a cream color, I decided to try my hand at restoring her to her original white by leaving her in a hydrogen peroxide bath, since I'd seen people had had luck with this before. Confetti also had what I believe were cancer spots on one side of her body and on her nose, but when I inspected her today, they looked like they were practically gone? I've never heard of this happening before. I guess it's pretty exciting since the cancer was bumming me out. I'll upload pictures when I figure out how and again after I take some when her HP treatment is all done.  :)

I've heard of an incident or two when age spots have faded during hydrogen peroxide treatment. It's not common tho, so a big yay for the luck you had! :)

I've used a watered down peroxide treatment on my baby moondancer with bad cancer. It worked well but about after a year the blotches came back XD I need to retreat her in non-watered down peroxide lol

You know what else works surprisingly is 40 volume cream bleach.

Works extra fast if you paint it on carefully and then put it under a blacklight or in the sun (so that UV hits it)

You can bleach VDS sometimes, but it'll always come back because it's caused by chemical breakdown / deterioration of the material bonds.

Sounds like she has polished up perfectly for you :)

Dreamcrystal's story of her Baby Moondancer is a perfect case in point of this treatment. You can, as you have, bleach out the staining that are the result of aging (age marks). However, unfortunately you are just removing that initial staining and over time it will come back as the plastic continues to degrade. Doesnt mean she doesnt look super pretty now...or that you cant treat her again in the future when it comes back. Congrats on such an adorable pony.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
