You could try a straight iron. Wet the hair, slather it with good thick conditioner, and section it into small pieces. Then, working from the body outward, quickly run the iron down each section of hair. You can do it several times, just make sure you never let the conditioner dry out fully. The nylon needs some protection from the heat.
If conditioner doesn't work try a flat iron on low and fabric softener. I find that works very well too

I find that works very well too Fabric softener can work wonders if you're persistent, but be sure to get it all out. A lot of times I found that if I'm not really thorough about getting it all out at the end, my pony's hair ends up feeling kind of gummy after I'm through. That stuff likes to stick around.
