Dream Beauty Barrettes?

I think I finally got a couple of good photos .... I took way too many trying to get the best shots- and then stupidly I ruined the photo by highlighting it for posting on e-bay....


Has anyone found a really good site with the dream beauty barrettes. It seems many collector sites (Great poines, MLP Wiki, Ponyland press, Kimsite, Mlp Scrapbook etc) are all missing many details about the later line of MLP.

Anyway I took 2 weeks off from work, since I rarely get sick... the Fiscal year was ending and I either use them or lose them. I was looking around to see what type of build up I had and came across several barrettes that I thought were the same, but turns out I have way more than great ponies!



I think the bottom 2 might belong to the Dream beauty line? The top 2 I think I just dye lot variations from the Pretty Ups and Parlor.

Anyone know of any good reference sites for filling in gaps or even of MIB Dream Beauties?

Good luck! I think dream beauties are amongst the hardest gaps to fill when it comes to accesories!

I'm not sure anyone really has complete info on the DB barrettes.  Unless maybe hathorcat knows?  There aren't any really good ID sites that I know of; they all have gaps.

I think I can help you with the double lilies barrettes of varying pink shades, though.  From your pic, the top row is Perfume Palace, and the middle row is Pretty Ups Birds and Flowers.  I agree with you that the bottom row barrettes both belong to Dream Beauties.  I'm fairly confident that the boxed one in the lower left corner goes with Crystalline; it's magenta and slightly translucent.  The unboxed one from the lower right corner was tougher to figure out, but I THINK it goes with Highflying DB Skyflier.  It's the lightest of all the different pink double lilies barrettes, but it's still a medium bubblegum pink.

Hmm Dream Beauties - I still need a few MIB pictures for my Accessory Site - but again that can only help so much - My plan is to start working on my accessory site again, now that the Fair is over.

This is a really helpful post   And to sort of take this on the photo tangent.  Ivy, when you're doing your photography, are you doing it with consistent (studio?) lighting and same white balance, aperture, focal length, etc?  I'm just asking, because it was a project I was thinking of starting since the photos-submitted-by-multiple-people don't really help ID accessories with only slight color variations.

If you're already keeping track of those things for your photos, and you need more photos from other people, would you mind sharing them so that when people submit photos of accessories they can be consistent?

Like I said, it was a project I was thinking of starting, but I know there are people who've already done a lot of work on this (and why double up? ), and I know that I don't have nearly the accessory collection that most people here do, but I do know photography and thought that maybe this would be helpful.

It would be great to have a consistent site such as that, however the colors on monitors vary, so even such a project like that would be challenging... Not to mention I have an extensive accessory collection & color variation, but no artistic photography ability. I wouldn't even know where to start with all of that information.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about monitor difference, but I actually think that matters less than people think.

What really matters is the light that people take photos in and their camera settings they use to take photos.  The equipment is minimal, but not everyone has a camera that will work

1. camera that they can adjust settings on
2. tripod (or some way to steady a camera while they shoot down)
3. 2 lamps
4. piece of white paper to shoot against

I'd be happy to start taking photos consistently, but I don't have anywhere to post them, I was thinking of submitting them to MLW.  Also it doesn't solve the problem that I have way fewer accessories than many others here.  If I shared the camera settings that I used to photograph accessories and then people sent me the images of items I don't have for post-processing that could work too.

I do use the same studio and I take it one step further and use the accesory and photohop to make sure that they match on my monitor.
