Saving Shining Armor!
« on: August 26, 2015, 06:08:43 PM »
I recently found a FS Shining Armor at a local Goodwill, and he's in pretty amazing condition... except for one thing. Nearly his whole body is covered in pink highlighter dots, like he has a seriously bad case of chicken pox. Is there anything I can do to restore him to his former glory without ruining his hair or paint?

probably all you can do is sun fade, but I've heard people
talk about peroxide or oxyclean, maybe?

I would try to sun fade him. Peroxide and Oxyclean damage plastic and paint. Do not use them unless you're going to keep him yourself or maybe use him as a custom bait. If you do and sell him, please tell his next owner about the use of chemicals.
Creatively cute and proud of it!  Have a very good day, [you]!  ^.^

Try the sunfading. It can do some amazing things, though in my experience pink highlighter is the hardest thing to get rid of. :/

There was something I read in a hair magazine that red colors, (orange, pink, red) are harder to remove as far as stains because the colors' molecules are closer together. I would also suggest some hardcore sunfading, if that doesn't work you can always paint him white!

Magic eraser is a good first port of call but I would suspect its going to have to be sun fading for him unfortunately. :)

Either sunfading, or repainting him white.
