Some of you may remember my post about restoring a pink My Pretty Pony, using my secret ingredient to lighten her yellowing.
Here's the original thread:
http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,362102.0.htmlWell today I decided to pull her off the shelf and confirm my suspicions that she is indeed slowly yellowing again. I've had her displayed out of direct sunlight for 6+ months now but she's not the gorgeous light cream she once was, nor the shocking yellow from before. Instead now she's a slightly blotchy cream, and only time can tell how much worse she will get. There are apparently spray on UV protective coatings I could have used to preserve her better but those are untested on ponies as well.
This is why I was hesitant to reveal what my
secret ingredient was, I didn't want to encourage others to use the product I did in case it destroyed their ponies. Being an experiment anything could go wrong, her plastic may be more brittle than ever now and her discolouration could become even more uneven in years to come. I of course still love her but it is a bit disappointing, I'll probably just make her a blanket.
I don't know if anyone cares for my findings, but I thought I'd share in the off chance it interests someone.
