Is Baby Moondancer hard to find?
« on: June 08, 2015, 11:11:40 AM »
I've wanted her for a while but it seems I can't find one in really good condition. I thought she was really common but maybe not since I can't seem to find one without many issues. Maybe she's just really popular?

I don't think she's hart to find at all, but as with so many other white ponies, finding one in good condition can be a trick.  The fact that she has a glittery symbol doesn't help either  :(

Not at all, she's very common and cheap, as for problems, I've heard about some stuff called retro-brite and sea brite that is supposed to be good for yellowing toys.. I can't say if the Pearly version is common or not.

She's fairly common but I wouldn't call her cheap, especially if you're searching for one in good condition. I sold a bright white one with gorgeous glittery symbols in beautiful condition a couple months ago for $30+ on ebay. I started her for $7. She and Baby Glory have a tendency to sell quite high in near mint condition.

Expect to pay more than $10 for a nice one.

I don't remember what I paid for my baby moondancer & glory but I believe I either found them at a toy sale, or in a lot for less. I agree that it might end up being a bit pricey for a whiter one, but you would always try restoring or sunfading one :)

Thanks everyone. I didn't know Baby Moondancer could go that high in really good condition. I would be looking for one in really good  to near mint condition.

I've personally found that her symbol tends to be her biggest issue. The glitter comes off, and the rest of the symbol can rub away pretty easily (similar to her mommy!). But I think she's actually very common.

I would not recommend sunfading this lovely little lady as she (at least to the best of my knowledge) is highly susceptible to sunburn. Personally  having a sunburned Baby Moondancer in hand before I'd definitely prefer one that is yellowed with age over one with a ultra-tan.

I'm so scared about "sunning" any pony! My luck would be a disastrous outcome/ I'd do something wrong to mess them up more..lol. >_<

As others have said - she is not hard to find but she can be tough to track down in very nice condition (un-yellowed and without any age marks, she is incredibly prone to the latter). Some ponies are frustratingly hard to find! Try an advert in your signature - I am sure you will find her, int he condition you wish, soon enough.
