Deboxing G2
« on: June 04, 2015, 01:12:33 PM »
Hi everyone,

I just got my second MIB anniversary playset from France ^.^
But I was wondering if I should debox one of the two..
I am trying to collect all the G2's loose and MIB.
I do have a loose version of this playset since 2013 but it is not complete, and I haven't been able to find the other accessories that belong to this set since then.
I was planning on deboxing one from the two MIB sets (because it is not a really HTF set) and to sell the loose one I already own, but I noticed that I have two different versions (they have a different color scheme). One MIB set has a really discolored box and even the purple table cloth is really discolored.

I have taken some pictures:

This is the loose version

And this is the other set MIB with pink cups

What would you do? In the end it is my call and I will make my own decision, but it would be really nice to have some input from you guys to help me make my decision!

Thanks  :)

G2 "feels" so recent for me- and if it is a relatively common set- than I say go for it.

That's tough... My nerd of a dad always moans "NOOOO DOOON'T" when I open my own MIB stuff, but I think you should choose one and open it. You can still keep all the plastic ties and carefully opened baggies inside the opened box and put it back in almost the way it was if you want to later.

By the way, is this one of the playsets where the muffins "bake" in the oven with a little wet sponge? Does it still work or is the paint on the muffins too old?

I am still doubting. But yes it is the set that can bake the muffins haha I did not have the sponge with my loose set but if you put a little bit of water on the muffins you get the same result, and I think it's really funny.

Its not super hard to find but its also not super common either so I see your conundrum. As you say its your set, so its your call. I personally would initially try to trade it to someone in turn for a complete and loose set. However, I know that is not always possible - but maybe worth a  go initially?

Yes that is a good idea but then I have to worry about the set being really mint because otherwise you end up worse.. But maybe someone has it, I guess I could ask in the trade forum.

No replies so far, but it is still in the box and I am going to keep it that way for now.

Keep it boxed for a while longer. I eventually found one complete and loose as well :)
