Help to ID these Customs? Thrift Shop Find.
« on: April 07, 2015, 02:49:29 PM »
I picked up some custom ponies at the thrift shop. Any idea who made them? I didn't want to leave them behind, but I don't collect customs, so they are also looking for new homes.  ^.^

I have been calling this one "Blue Ribbon". Her hair feels coarse, like a CPK pony's.

This pink unicorn is starting to lose her hearts (they are stuck on) and her hair is glued on and not rooted, and is coming loose near her horn.

And the flutter.

Just guessing, but they look like they might have been made quite a while ago. Looks like some of the materials we were "making do" with before nylon hair and Swarovski crystals became common.

I definitely remember the look of the Flutter - I think someone on eBay was selling a fair amount of this "style" of custom like 5-7 years back? One big gem and a bunch of little seed-beads glued in around it was sort of their "MO", with original hair and a body repaint. I can't remember who it was though, it may have been a strictly eBay-only collector!

or they were made by someone just trying it out, and not necessarily a collector or anything ;) When I give presentations on customizing, I suggest it as a birthday party idea - where everyone gets a pony (not vintage), paint, sequins, whatever, and have fun.
