Hello Everyone!

Hello!  I am a 35 year old women who has been collecting My Little Ponies since I was four years old.  I live with my family in Georgia (the US state, not the country!).  My daughter also collects ponies but my husband looks on it as a cute Suzuran thing to do!  Not that he doesn't watch FiM with us!  I am usually surrounded by my pets which include my labrador, my 13 year old cat, and my two rats!

I love collecting ponies of all generations with the exception of G2.  I know they have fans, but I'm really not one of them.  Poor misshapen things.  I generally only buy G1s when I go to cons or auctions.  They were a big part of my life growing up and I love them.  Most of my G3s, of which I have a small army, I got when they came out.  Most are NOT MIB as I didn't and still don't have room for that.  But some of my favorites are!  I also have quite a few G4s.  I love FiM and I think the new ponies are cute, but I am a little sad that they are so tiny now.

My first pony was Peachy with her Pretty Parlor when I was five years old.  I loved that pony so much!  I'm still upset when my older brother flushed Twinkles the kitty down the toilet.  He was a mean kid.  My home life was very bad when I was a kid and so my Ponies meant a lot to me.  They would be there waiting and smiling at me and seemed so happy that I was alive.  They were a bright light in a dark time for me.  Just remembering how happy they made me is a big reason why I still collect them now.  I also love the colors and of course the fact that they are horses as well~!

I'm still trying to fix and sort out my collection since I moved.  If I had known the horrible job that the movers did with my various collections, I would have made an issue of it.  They removed lids, moved ponies, shoved things into the storage containers and lost all of my notes as to what I had and didn't have.  Because life tends to be full of challenges, it's been slow going trying to fix the mess that they made.

I have a lot of G1s, although my collection isn't near complete.  Right now I'm trying to get upgrades or replace (well, not replace as I am never going to get rid of them!) some well loved childhood ponies.  I have just two or three G2s and I have that army of G3s of course.  I have quite a few G4s, but not nearly all of them.  I like to buy different ponies rather than the 235435 of the same pony with the only difference being clothes or a bit of paint.  I just don't have funds or room for that!

I was on an old pony board a long time ago that was abandoned.  It's nice to find a new board with people who are interested in ponies again!  I was told about this board by a member here named Capnchan.  I met her at a convention last weekend and after talking to her for a very long time about ponies, gave me in information to go here!  OH!  If you read this Capnchan, I DID have that Baby North Star!  Now I have two.  That's not bad though!  She's so very cute!!!

Hello, Suzuran! Welcome to the Arena!

Not everyone falls for all the generations. I tend to avoid all G3.5 ponies, to each their own though! They can be very therapeutic toy thanks to their colors and happy faces, I'm glad they were able to help you as a child. I'm sorry your movers were so rude, I hope you get your collection back in order soon. Enjoy the forums!

If you do not love some ponies that is all good and well ,not everyone loves all of them
just do not attack them  ,every pony as ugly or as per your words "misshapen little things " have fans and are appreciated
thank God we all like different things, there are not enough G2s in the world for everyone ,so you not liking them is a relief for the fans like me who loves them

Houston Collector, I did not mean to be rude in any way in calling the G2s 'misshapen little things'.  I do want to say though that I never called G2s ugly.  They just aren't my ideal pony shape, that's all.  I would NEVER be intentionally rude to anyone, much less fellow pony lovers.  I am glad that you love them!  When I find any G2s in thrift stores or in pony lots, I try to find them nice homes as they are ponies too.  They just aren't my cup of tea.  I'm very sorry if I came off that way.  I hope I didn't upset you!

  LOL No big deal I will always defend my favorite Gen LOL Proud of their uniqueness but "misshapen little things" kinda hit the spot on the form of insult towards them, but here you are free to speak your mind and well when someone does not agree they will also speak their mind  but all in civility , we have to agree to disagree ,Like I said is just not a big deal at the end, but yes ,do rescue G2s some can be HTF and you will be rewarded for sure
the common ones will get you a couple of dllrs but some can be worth on the 80's to  100's .

Welcome to the arena Thank you for taking the time to stop by and tell us about yourself! I also was never into the G2 ponies, I remember when they came out as a child that loved the G1 ones. I was so sad and stopped getting new ponies after that.  I only got a new pony is we found a G1 second hand.  Everyone loves different generations but what matters is that we all love ponies

I had no idea that I had used an insult when I talked about the G2s.    I won't do THAT again!  We may sometimes disagree, but insults are wrong and are not needed.  I love it when everyone agrees on something, but I also love it when they don't!  Life would be so boring if everyone were the same and what fun would that be?

I don't think I have anything interesting as G2 ponies go, but as I get everything together, I'll make sure I look any I have up!

YAAAAAY! I am so glad you signed up It made my weekend meeting you and talking to you about our childhood G1s. It is so rare to meet a GI collector in the wild haha. Your introduction was excellent I hope we get to hang out again and enjoy the best pony forum ever! <3

  I was hoping to find you here!  You were the first pony collector I've found in the wild too!  I have managed to find four of my boxes of ponies, but the ones with some of my rares and my G4s are still MIA.  I hope one of the movies didn't take them.
