oh man, I wish I had steady hand that could do detail like that. And I wish I could find some decent detail brushes. I recently purchased several detail brushes and I hope they will be small enough. I haven't gotten them yet though.

Also I have been known to trim some of the hairs on brushes to make them smaller. Don't worry, I only do it on low quality brushes!
