There is a heated discussion in another thread about removing ponies from their packaging, and ponies being damaged by their packaging was mentioned.  Does anyone have any pictures of a pony that was ink-stained or something else due to the packaging?  I'm really quite curious!

I know sparkle or see through ponies like hip holly and other such kinds of ponys get plastasizer leakage and it makes the ponies look wet and gummy in their plastic =/ Also ponies have been reported to have been removed from packages stained by their own clothing.

I opened 2 Moc G2s recently , they came from Australia , they 2 of them had a brownish sticky  film , it came off  right away ,used a magic eraser and soap to clean them up, I placed them back in their open bubble after that , will see if it happens again or not before I re seal them
one of them was Spring.

I recently sold on Argentina blue rainbow baby that was removed from the card by her previous owner. The side that was touching the card was stained pink along her "shoulder" area & front leg. Her display side looked perfectly mint, though so there was no way to know about the damage before the card was opened in this scenario.

I have a Glittery Skater and Lady Waterfall with those issues. I'm doubting whether I should do the same.

Hmm, I have heard that sealed ponies are more prone to plasticizer leakage.  I was surprised at how brown it looked on those G2 ponies though!

All 3 of my girls were this way - the ink on those backcards was not friendly to the ponies within :( A lot of sun fading (and I mean a lot as we dont get sun in Scotland :P) and they were mostly fixed up.

Most of these situations tend to involve ink staining or water having gotten inside the bubble and causing mould or similar.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

The thought of a pony getting moldy in it's packaging is so gross!  I'm not too surprised about the backcard ink staining though, since it seems like ANYTHING with color will stain a pony sometimes.

I have seen other Mocs sweating a little bit in their bubbles but they kinda stabilize after arriving and living in my Pony room in a cool/cold temperature ,I think some of them were stored in places with no AC, so they were exposed to  heat and/or sun.

I would only open them if they were as bad as these 2, if it is not that heavy of plasticizer leakage I would not do it.

I had an Argie baby recently who's card had clearly gotten soaked. She looked reasonably ok, but the whole thing stank of mildew. Turned out she also had some discoloration from an accessory that was touching her, but you couldn't tell while she was in the bubble. She's cleaned up well though.
