Combining shipping with the ebay global shipping program?

So I bid on several items from an international seller on ebay. They messaged me asking if I could pay the items individually and they would just refund the shipping difference since they do not know how to get out of the global shipping thing ebay has to combine my wins. That's 45 GBP for shipping alone! I'm not worried about the seller not refunding the difference, but it seems silly ebay has put this on sellers. Is there no way around it? I'll have to deposit more money than I planned to pay for my items. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue selling or buying on ebay to international.

Yeah unfortunately the Global Shipping Program doesn't allow sellers to combine shipping since it disables the ability for the seller to send an invoice of their own. I've run into issues with it a few times now as a seller.

It's great to be able to easily offer global shipping like that, but it definitely has its downsides too.

To get out of the GSP, they would have to refund your purchase, go into their preferences and choose to no longer be involved in the GSP. Then they would have to relist the auction and you would have to re-buy. Sorry.

There is no way to combine items with Global Shipping AFAIK.

If the seller sends you all three items in the same package, will they get dinged for two auctions "not arriving" at the GS mailing center?

Ugggh, this program is so poorly thought out.

I've worked around it before.
You have to cancel the auction, and re list in one auction.

Well I had to go ahead and pay instead of waiting an extra day for the funds to kick in because seller has it set up for automatic unpaid disputes to be open on day two and we're on different time zones so no time to explain everything to them and I want to go ahead and pay. I'll just get my brother to transfer funds into my account when he gets home since that's instant. I agree that this global shipping thing is not very well put together.

I used the stupid shipping program once by mistake- and what I did was refund the buyerthe balance of what it cost me to ship all the items.

Now I am VERY careful to make sure that stupid shipping program thing is not checked!

I never use the GSP on my listings - its way too much of a pain not being able to combine shipping and can cost the buyer a lot of money

Yes! When I list, I have to be careful to make sure the global shipping program option isn't activated. I want to say Ebay has that as the default setting or something, because I've accidentally had it activated before, too. :/ There were no problems for me, but the poor buyer, having to pay so much.
