Oooff that's inconvenient and annoying, for both sold out items and feedback x.x Is there any way to make sold out items stop displaying automatically or anything? I've got a weird schedule so it makes me worry I might not get things removed in time.
Nope. On that, the only way to do it is to manually remove or hide the item until it's restocked. But you would at least be able to let people see that it's gone before they click on the item if your stock is properly monitored which is pretty easy.
example:
http://sugarstuff.storenvy.com/collections/949059-vintage-my-little-pony You can see the ones there that have been sold have the sold out button on the image before even clicking the item.
eedback could go either way... no awful buyer to mess up your positive scores, but at the same time it feels much more risky as a buyer :/ What do you think of their buyer protection? Do they always side with the buyer or are they fairer on sellers?
I've never had that problem, so I don't really know on that.
Is there a reason so many shops don't accept Paypal? I was poking around and saw it as an option you can add, but I've tried to buy from many shops (from small ones with bad quality photos etc to much more professional larger ones) and none have accepted Paypal so far.
They've been moving over to a credit card processor (stripe). If your store is in the marketplace, then you're reguired to use stripe, though you can still use paypal. You can also still use paypal if your store isn't in the "marketplace". (This means that your store is searchable via storenvy versus having your store only accessed via the url for it by people whom you've already given it to.) For those that are in the marketplace, there is now a commission on all sales. It might be like 20% or something.
That might be the reason behind that. I honestly would think that a lot of people would use both. And it could also be that some people don't really like using paypal. I personally don't, but it's the most common payment processor.
store ratingshttp://blog.storenvy.com/post/59707171915/introducing-store-ratingsIt shows where to go for ratings. Apparently the buyer has to go into their orders page to do ratings. I knew that I had them, but didn't know how to access them myself. These can't actually be posted anywhere that your shoppers will see though. However, apparently if you get enough good ratings, your store will earn a badge to let people know you have good service.
For now, I would recommend linking to offsite feedback.
more marketplace infoBecause I decided to opt out of the marketplace, and the credit card processor, they do still have paypal and will likely send a message like this;
"We noticed that you have closed down your Storenvy marketplace store. As an independent brand or small business it's all about exposure, and the Storenvy marketplace is an effective way to get your business in front of millions customers. We're excited about the big improvements to the marketplace, and we think you'll be excited too!
An Improved Marketplace That's Worth a Second Look.
Marketplace Only Stores: You can now list items exclusively in the marketplace. This works great for businesses that have existing stores, or those who do not need a custom store.
Professional Credit Card Check Out: Accept credit card payments using Stripe. The new checkout experience is much faster, and has been optimized to increase conversion rates on both desktop and mobile.
More Visibility: We've groomed the marketplace to only showcase active stores, which means your products will have a better chance of being seen by customers."
Hope all of that helps.
