Questions about customizing a large fashion style-How much hair?

So it’s been a while since I have done a custom and thought I would try my hands at a Fashion style size. I figured more canvass space and it might be easier for me to hold and see better.

• So suggestions for prep? Or tips?
  
  
  • How many hanks/skeins of hair for a mane and tail am I looking at? I am thinking of floor length tail, shoulder length mane and feather legs.
    
    
    • Suggestions or recommendations on where to buy the hair? (I know I hear that some places are slow etc…)
      
      
      • Suggestions for making identical eyes? It seems like I always make one larger than the other. !!

Sketching the eyes first always helps me get them more symmetrical. I also like to use the existing eye as much as possible (taping it off if the coat of paint is thin enough, for example).

DollyHair is my favorite place to get hair from. They have a lot of selection, but they can take around a week to get to me. I've not used hanks from there to do a fashion sized, so I'm not sure how much you need. Considering how much a normal G4 uses, I don't think you would need more than two hanks, but I'm sure someone experienced can give you a better answer.
