To debox or not to debox, that is the question!
« on: February 21, 2015, 08:09:13 AM »
Hi all! A while back I got my very first Licca doll, the Hatsune Miku version. She is very cute and I'd like to debox her, but I'm wondering if she will display better still in box. Also, I have limited display space for loose dolls. But I hate to leave dolls trapped in their boxes! What to do? If anyone has a loose Licca Miku and can show pics that would be great. I'm not too worried about loosing value if she's deboxed. Arrrrg dolly problems!

First, congrats on getting the Miku!

There are some pics of her deboxed on Flickr, and here's a show pic of sort from Crunchyroll:

I personally think she'd be better deboxed, since her in (cute) box doesn't seem to do her justice to me. Plus she's still about $30 on Amazon if you catch her, so it's possible to buy a second for the "inbox value" if you so please. But it's ultimately up to you :)

Good choice, but understandably hard!! I have a very hard time deboxing, which is why I will almost always go for loose collectables rather than MIB/ MOC. I will totally pay more attention to the loose toys, but I just about can't stand to debox them if they come to me still in original packaging... >.<

I feel the same way! But though I cringe a little when I debox a new toy, it still feel very liberating. Especially if I'm not concerned about saving the packaging & can just rip into it! Licca Miku is now free, and I like her a lot more out of the box. I will definitely be adding more Liccas to the doll family!
