What is G3 Starflight Doing Releasing NOW? 2015? A G3? Retros?

Can somebody know what's going on?
What is Hasbro doing releasing STARFLIGHT right now? In 2015?

I mean, Starflight & Heartbright were pretty cool.
I own both & love them. How popular were they with everyone else?
But no one has seen 1 fiber of G3 since it went down the "garbage chute of unpopularity" when they decided to turn it into G3.5 & the Bore 7. I would personally LOVE IT if G3 came back, even a set a year or something of lovely new ponies. Seeing her is very exciting.

In the booth photo there's a round 2 tier stand to the far right. She's on the 2nd shelf down. You can see her wings.

Also, bringing back the first 6 retro-re-releases?
Wasn't that whole thing a fiasco for them because:

They did not use nostalgia packaging on their "The primary appeal IS NOSTALGIA" product (ex. no bubble card)
They packaged 3-in-1 to force over-spending / stop impulse nostalgia buying (impulse nostalgia was the whole point) As kids, the audience remembers buying 1 pony at a reasonable rate with allowance money, not a 25 to 30 dollar 3 pack
They made cheap looking (thin tail, tips over, weird hair, tiny eyes that don't match originals, non matching colors) ponies to try to "trick" the core audience of nostalgia buyers. (The originals were such soft, girly pastels --don't get me wrong I LOVE bright hot colors, but if you want to say "This is Cottoncandy G1" you can't have loud 80s hot pink rocker colors etc.)

They blamed "the fans" for not liking the product & said "G1 stinks everyone hates it" due to all above list
(That's not even bringing in the hardcore people (AKA - us here) knowing that the first 6 are pretty common in the collector market anyway. A 2nd set Rainbow Pony , a Big Brother, a Mountain Boy or a Euro Mommy / Baby re-release might have seen collector's high rate of success along with general market success.)

So why bring out the LEAST popular /cheaply done/rushed item that they themselves said "was unsuccessful" ?

I hope someone finds out something / another picture of this display!

I'm copying and pasting my reply from the other thread because I'm lazy.  (Sorry!!)

I think the non-G4 ponies are there just as a "Here is how our brand has changed over time, look at our longevity" thing.

What makes me say that is I can see the circular "25th anniversary" logo on the front of the G1 retro pack, and it's a set they've already released (Butterscotch, Cotton Candy, and Blue Belle).

And if that's the case, poor absent G2.


Also, Hasbro never blamed the fans.  Hasbro never said anything at all.  They just released two sets (Collectors and Rainbow ponies) and then quietly stopped making retro sets.  Presumably the reason is that they didn't make enough money.

I would love to see some retro packs, but ... only with G2s included. Poor things!

I doubt very much these are going to be releases. As LadyM says its just a brand stand so they are no doubt examples of what has come before. Nothing more exciting than that. No packaging on the stand and everything just a bit too random and unfinished to be part of a formal product display.

I just assumed they were just decoration as soon as I saw the photo, but, it would still be nice to get some reissues again.

I'm a fan of G3, I LOVE G3. But sadly I know they're not gonna come back in anyway shape or form :c
